To pass, score 80 points or more; the examiner scores on quality of work and technique. Educator (Level 5) Diploma issued.
How to become an educator
Seven steps to the diploma.

Search our list of educators to sign up for Level 1, 2, and 3 Certification Courses.

At the end of Level 2 and 3, submit close-up, high-res photos of your work from the technique section of the syllabus to help@leafgel.com.

Send pictures of your Level 1, 2 and 3 certificates to help@leafgel.com before scheduling your Level 4 exam.

Book your Level 4 (written) and Level 5 (practical) exams. Take them on separate days.

Level 4 — pass the written exam with a score of 80% or higher.

Level 5 — pass the practical exam with a score of 80% or higher.

Upon passing both, provide a full bio (two paragraphs minimum), a profile picture, and your plans as a Certified Leafgel Premium Educator.
Online exam booking is disabled until further notice. Domestic applicants take Level 4 and 5 in person at our Educator seminars; international applicants may take both exams virtually via Zoom.
Photo submission · Levels 2 & 3
Twelve techniques, four angles each.
At the end of Level 2 and 3, submit close-up, high-res photos of your work to help@leafgel.com. Plain white or black background, bright cool lighting.
Freestyle designs must include a list of Leafgel products used.
Level 5 practical exam
Two hours, one live model, seven tasks.
Model must have healthy bare nails. Do not pre-prep — overfiling during the first task costs points and damages the model’s nails.

Tools needed
Virtual exam setup (international only)
Two fully charged devices: a smartphone on a tabletop mount as the overhead Zoom camera, and a tablet or laptop beside you for the exam and as backup. Desk lamp for the practical. Sessions are recorded; the examiner stays on the call with video off. Written exam: 50-minute timer, randomized multiple-choice and short-answer, not open book.
